What is the Voice Activity Detector (VAD) and how does it work?

This feature allows the guide-U transmitter microphone to constantly monitor whether or not the tour guide is speaking. It then only activates the microphone if the guide speaks.

What is the Multi Talker Network (MTN) and how does it work?

The MTN is a proprietary Phonak technology that allows you to integrate up to 10 transmitters in the same speaker group. Additional transmitters could, for example, be used by additional tour guides, or the Phonak DynaMic microphone could be passed around the audience to broadcast their questions.

How many guide-U channels can I program?

Up to 32 guide-U channels can be programmed using a guide-U transmitter (inspiro, TX-300V etc.).

Can I use guide-U in noisy environments?

Yes, the guide-U tour guide system is designed for use in noise levels of up to 95dB. (Note: we always recommend testing your guide-U system in such situations before you use it with real customers.)

What headphones are available for guide-U users to wear?

Two headphone sets are available for the guide-U tour guide system: a single-ear set and a traditional two-ear headphone set.

How do I charge guide-U?

A special charging/storage case is available, which can hold for one inspiro transmitter and 12 receivers (iSense Classic and/or MyLink+). For more details please contact your local guide-U supplier.

Where can I get guide-U and what does it cost?

For product availability and prices please contact your local Phonak supplier.
