Phonak launches ‘primero’: the world’s first in-ear boomless headset with VIP technology

Paris, October 2007 — At the Milipol 2007 Conference in Paris, Phonak unveils a once-in-a-decade breakthrough in communication technology. ‘primero’ is a complete communication solution for public safety teams to transmit and receive information. The entire system is merged into one single earpiece, which makes this revolutionary boomless headset compatible with helmets and gasmasks.

The new technology is the outcome of several years' intensive development by a large, dedicated group of engineers in the Phonak laboratories. ‘primero’ sets new standards. It provides extra intelligibility by employing technologies such as VIP (voice intra-aural pick-up) and BSS (blind source separation).
